Background
Mr.  Olson was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He grew up in Southern California and attended Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island and graduated in 1967 with a B. A. degree in International Relations. He received his law degree from U.C.L.A. Law School in Los Angeles in 1970.
Mr. Olson has been a fixture in the Bay Area legal community while practicing with Severson, Werson, Berke & Melchior (1971 – 1976), Jonas, Matthews, Domingos, Olson & Grice (a founding partner 1976 – 1990), Hassard, Bonnington, Rogers & Hubbard (Of Counsel 1990 – 1995) in San Francisco, California and the Law Offices of David L. Olson from 1995 to the present in Oakland, California.
    
His practice has focused on advising individuals, partnerships and small businesses on business, real estate, construction and corporate law and civil litigation with exposure to employment, elder abuse and commercial law matters.

Interests
    Travel, skiing, jazz, running and time with family, including children and grandchildren.
